Trip to Maritime Museum

 Today we had an educational trip to Maritime Museum to learn and experience the sea. We attended a workshop about immigration and identity. We came to know that New Zealand was just discovered about 1000 years ago. We also sailed on the TED ASHBY for an hour - long cruise in Auckland's Harbour; saw the city skyline, Sky Tower and Auckland Harbour Bridge from the sea. It was fascinating to see cannon firing at the museum. Then we went to explore the Museum Gallery. Here are some snapshots:

Nanogirl Show

 Today we had a very special assembly on Nanogirl. It is a show about science hosted by Dr Jude. She is a scientist and also an engineer. She informed us about the job done by a scientist and an engineer. It was very educational and inspiring. She also did a very experiments with some volunteers from the school. Leaning about My Maps

Today we learnt about My maps. We learnt how to go to My Maps from our class site. We were also given a slide each and we inserted our own maps in it. It was really exciting to take a screenshot of the map and insert it on our pages. We also inserted the links so that our classmates can use the link to go to our maps.

Trip to Buddhist Temple

Today we visited the Buddhist Temple in Flatbush, Manukau. It was really cool as we learnt about 3G: Do Good Deeds Say Good Words Think Good Thoughts. We Also learnt about the 4G: Give Confidence, Give Joy, Give Hope, Give Convenience. We made a Lotus flower and learnt the importance of it. We were also given refreshments (Laba Congee made from rice). We learnt about Buddha and did some exercise to calm ourselves down. It was a really fruitful trip.
